Pursuing Her Passion

As a child, I discovered the delight and excitement that comes from the creative process.  I passionately pursued art training and began selling and receiving awards for paintings while in high school. After studying visual arts and elementary education in college I continued to use my art abilities part time while working full time as an elementary educator.  Since 2015, I have focused my energies on honing my visual arts skills.

I find inspiration all around me whether in a landscape, still life, or figure. My passion to paint is sparked by the beauty of my surroundings and the emotions they evoke.  The dance of colors, light and values with the rhythm of shapes and other visual elements excite me.  Daily, I am inspired to translate those feelings into my paintings. My desire is to share those senses with my patrons.

I have studied watercolor with Barbara Berry, Winnie Givot and Anji Granger and acrylic painting with Jed Dorsey and Dianne Shyne. I am a member of Plein Air Painters of Oregon and Acrylic University. My paintings have been purchased by collectors across the North America.

The paintings are sealed with a UV protection from harmful effects of the sun on paints and pigments. Several of my paintings are framed with floating box frames and are suitable for hanging or setting on a shelf.

When not in my studio, you can find me plein air painting, hiking, kayaking, biking and enjoying the outdoors in all the seasons.
